Music

At Staple Hill Primary School, music plays an important role in school life and is enjoyed both in lessons and through a range of enrichment opportunities.

We begin each week with a whole-school singing assembly on Mondays, where pupils learn a wide repertoire of songs and develop their confidence, enjoyment and understanding of music through regular singing together.

In Years 3 and 4, pupils learn to play the ukulele, taught by a specialist music teacher. Through these lessons, children develop their instrumental technique, musical understanding and performance skills. Pupils are given regular opportunities to perform to parents, helping to build confidence, pride and a sense of achievement.

We also offer a school choir, led by Mrs Dawes, which provides pupils with the opportunity to sing as part of a larger ensemble. The choir performs during our annual carol concert and also takes part in a summer concert alongside other schools in the Leaf Trust, held at the Bristol Beacon.
