RE

At Staple Hill Primary School, RE is an important part of our curriculum. We embed RE throughout the year, creating opportunities for reflection, discussion and deep understanding.

In RE, we show our school values.

Responsible – At Staple Hill Primary School, RE encourages children to take ownership of their beliefs, actions and decisions. They learn to respect the diverse and cultural beliefs around them, making positive choices to show respect to others.

Respectful – RE plays a key role in supporting our value of respect by teaching children to acknowledge and appreciate different faiths. Through RE lessons, children develop empathy and understanding, learning to engage with different beliefs in a respectful and thoughtful way.

Positive – RE promotes a positive outlook by encouraging children to engage in curious learning with an open mind. It teaches children to value their own beliefs while also valuing others’ beliefs, even if they are different. We foster an environment where learning about different beliefs and perspectives is seen as an opportunity to learn and connect with others.

Kind – In RE, children are encouraged to show kindness and compassion in their interactions with others, demonstrating understanding and care for people of all faiths, backgrounds, and cultures.
