Our School Council is an exciting way for pupils to have their voices heard and take an active role in shaping life at Staple Hill Primary. Every term, two representatives from each class are elected by their peers, giving children the chance to experience democracy in action.
The council meets regularly with Mr Goldsmith to share ideas, raise questions, and explore ways in which our school can continue to grow and improve. Meetings are also an opportunity to celebrate the many things we already love about our school community.
This year, our key focus is on “sharing our remarkable” – working with other schools in the Leaf Trust to showcase the brilliant learning, creativity, and community spirit at Staple Hill. We have also explored what belonging means to us as a school, and created a pupil “wish list” for new after-school clubs that reflect our wide range of interests.
The School Council plays a vital role in ensuring that pupils’ voices are valued and acted upon. Watch this space for regular updates as we continue to share our progress, celebrate successes, and bring new ideas to life throughout the year!
